Tsirang police arrested two men from Dagana, for bringing in fake Ngultrum notes from border town of Jaigaon on March 18, following a complaint from a shopkeeper in Changchey town.

The 22-year old and 28-year old brothers from Shamdolay village, Tashidhing gewog in Dagana, were caught carrying fake Nu 1,000 notes by the shopkeepers in Chanchey, when they bought goods worth Nu 3,000.

"Witnessing the wedding and crowning of five Kings in one lifetime"

With the crowning of His Majesty the Fifth Druk Gyalpo in 2008, she has witnessed the crowning of all the five Kings of Bhutan. Angay Sangay Pelzom from Bjoka in Zhemgang is 110-year-old. She lives with her granddaughter in Gelephu.
from the page of royal wedding
Angay Sangay has also witnessed the wedding of the four Druk Gyalpos. Come Thursday and she would have witnessed the wedding of the fifth Druk Gyalpo as well.
In 2008 during the coronation of His Majesty the King, she came to celebrate the event at the Tendrelthang in Thimphu, where she offered Ku Sung Thu gi mendrel to His Majesty. This time she will not be able to come to witness the historic event in person but will definitely be watching it LIVE on BBS TV.
At 110, Angay Sangay is a very satisfied person, having lived to see some of the historic events in the history of the Kingdom.

A Mistaken Food

This is song written and sung by Dr. Sherab Dorji. As this song is not fully understood by many listeners, I thought it would be nice to translate and share it here.

From the hands of generous people
I (fish) didn't expect a hook
But the hook of an uncompassionate Buddhist
Is killing me in the sandy plain
While I was in the depth of the river
I was content with the elegance of my body

From the hands of women loving eggs
I (hen) didn't expect a poisonous act
But the ill will of women loving bloody meat
Is ripping off my feathers in boiling water
While I was at the door of the house
Laid laying nutritious eggs

From a religious minded son
I (ox) didn't expect a knife
But the knife of the money loving son
Is separating my body in the paddy field
While I was at a beautiful village
I ploughed the field tirelessly

From the hand of greedy nomad
I (she-yak) didn't expect a spear
But the spear of wretched nomad
Is making me crave for water in the butcher's town
While I was in the mountains
I happily grazed the grass and flowers
P.S. Both the singer and translator are vegetarian.
